Welcome to the Family! Headquartered in Ipswich, Massachusetts, Merfish United serves 47 U.S. states through its 12 strategically located distribution centers and proprietary fleet of about 65 trucks. Merfish United’s product offering includes full lines of steel pipe, copper tubing, plastic pipe, electrical conduit and related
products. The company supports commercial, residential, municipal and industrial building markets in areas such as plumbing and heating; pipe, valve and fittings (PVF); heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); waterworks; fire protection; pool supply; lumber yard; fence; electrical supply, and more. With Merfish as a part of the Reliance Family, our exposure to copper and plastic products increases, as does our position in the industrial distribution space. We're excited to have a platform for further growth in this area and look forward to a brighter future together!
Remembering and Serving on 9/11 Day For the third year, Reliance partnered with the 9/11 Day organization to send a family of volunteers to Meal Pack events in five U.S. cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and St. Louis. It's one way we can come together as individuals, as companies, and as a Family in solidarity. In the midst of the somber remembrance offered to all those lost in 2001, we were able to show strength and solidarity in service to our communities. Across 10 Meal Pack events, over two million meals were packed by more than 6,500 volunteers! This being the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, the opportunity to show up and "do some Good," as Hale Nelson of EMJ – who volunteered in Atlanta – put it simply, was especially meaningful.
Reliance's largest group accounted for about 10% of the total volunteers in Los Angeles, where President Karla Lewis opened the event with a bang.
Participating FOCs included AMI Metals, SSA, Bralco Metals, MetalCenter, CCC Steel, Reliance Steel Company, EMJ, and Reliance Corporate. Across the other cities, we had representation from Phoenix Metals, Tubular Steel, NI Steel, Feralloy, Sugar Steel, and Smith Pipe. Thanks to everyone for making the time on a Saturday to work and serve for a powerful cause. As our CEO Jim Hoffman – who volunteered in Phoenix along with his wife, Andrea – said, "Anyone can write a check... Giving up your personal time is yet another thing altogether!"
